1965 VW Convert on a 1970 pan (titled as a '70)

ENGINE (1600cc)
'AS41' magnesium/aluminum case
  • Recently 'refreshed' using:
  • new Mahle cylinders
  • new Mahle teflon coated pistons
  • new Mahle piston rings
  • valves were honed/seated and leak tested OK
  • heads were vat cleaned and sandblasted
  • New pushrod tubes
  • all new gaskets
  • new front main seal
  • new clutch plate and throw-out bearing
  • rebuilt dual 40mm Kadron carbs
  • new muffler
  • new battery
  • new electric fuel pump
  • new electronic ignition (009 distributer)
    BODY
  • new top, headliner, and pads
  • new original weave replacement seat fabric (TMI)
  • new door and interior panels
  • wood dash with full instruments
  • wide fibreglass fenders front and rear with 'Rossi' headlights and large late model taillights
  • offset wide rims front and rear ... tires have only about a thousand miles on them
  • all body chrome removed and holes welded in
  • front disk brakes (drum brakes are standard)
  • 2 inch dropped front spindles mounted on an 'Adjust-a-beam' front end
  • new brake pads/shoes all around with new wheel and master cylinders
  • new tie-rod ends, new ball joints, new steering sector and damper
